Announcing the 3rd annual HBC Stock/Super Stock Nationals sponsored by Higginbotham Brothers Company and Benjamin Moore Paints. This coming Saturday, October 25th, at Abilene Dragstrip in Abilene, Texas. NHRA and IHRA legal entries welcome. IHRA rules & indexes for qualifying. Membership not required. This is a Stock/Super Stock combo race.

Guaranteed Purse!!!

Winner $3000
R/U 1200
Semi's 600
Quarter's 300
16's 150

Entry fee is $150. Includes free admission for up to three crew members.

Racers will be qualified and laddered for eliminations. Abilene Dragstrip is an 1/8 mile track at 1700' elevation. Indexes will be altitude adjusted. Rain date is Sunday, October 26th.

Gates open at noon. Two qualifying rounds with the first one starting at 2:00PM. Tech closes at the conclusion of the second qualifying session.

Weather forecast looks great. Sunny with highs in the mid 70's.

Chad, what is the track prep like there? (Please tell me it's better than Red River)

Mr. Wright, Dad and I were at both of the previous HBC Combo races at Abilene and the traction was good each time. Some racers that ran the Friday Night Test-N-Tune had issues. But, it's been very good for raceday. It should be better than Red River was. Also, 1700' altitude will take a little power out of the car. Since last year's race, a new owner has made some upgrades to what was already a nice facility. Dad said, "come on down and bring James Lee with you." We'll try and make it out just to watch since the car is down until next year. Hope to see you there.

Thanks guys. If I race next year I'm going to have to break down and have it back-halved so I can get some bigger tires under it for the marginal tracks. Just didn't want to haul it down there and have problems.
I'll see if I can get James and a couple others to come along. Probably see ya Saturday.
