Default fuel cell foam

I am thinking about taking the foam out of my fuel cell. I really don't know if it will change anything, but wanting to know if other racers, run with or without cell foam. I have a 4 gal jaz cell, that is like the one they use in dragsters, with a number 10 pick up. Will I gain any capacity if I take it out? I believe they use it to keep the fuel from sloshing and if it is punctured, keep it from running out real fast. Thanks in advance

Mine is out also but you need to keep your fuel cell topped off so you don’t get any sloshing. James

I too have a 4 gal Jaz dragster fuel cell and am using methanol for fuel and my foam is in and has been for ten years over which time I have removed instected it four times and have seen no signs of degradation others results with gasoline may be different.
