It would be if you did the following;
Only class winners run eliminations. Their fastest run would be their handicap. Breakout in force. Those who did not win class would have a shoe polish eliminator after class eliminations. Go as fast as you can. Sarge |

Just go back to the old way with Class Winners in and the rest of the field the fastest qualified non-Class winners.

And you would get 20 racers to show up! Old ideas from old times. Hate to say it.

I believe that there would be a better mix of cars and or trucks if it was class winners and then the rest. Is it not the racers fault no one else built a same class car. Comp style racing belongs in comp. If your the only one in class you still have to run on or below the index to get into the eliminator. Talk about folks stepping it up to get in on time after class winners that will make racers pullout the stops. Indy where AHFS does not belong.

I don't hate to say this, because I'm certain that many years ago when this change happened, there were posts about racers who lost their class elims, but felt robbed because their .7-.8sec under high dollar cars were left out of the 128 car field, by low buck car's that only ran .5 under their indexes and/or won their classes as single car entries!

Not really a viable idea any more. There is not many national events that contest class anymore. If something like this were to be done then make it the same .50 under to set records be the same trigger for class win and automatic entry to the eliminator

I did not have anything to do with the Hp on the truck. For us it was cheep class car for us to build so Chris could race the Cuda and I the truck. Last time I checked the truck is 29 Hp up from stock.
Back to your question I don?t know but, Indy is the place to Show and Tell without any worries. |
