Default AMC Automatic Transmission Choices

What automatic transmissions are legal to run in AMC's?

Thanks!

Daren, it was kind of a Hodge-Podge depending on year, engine and model.
there was a lot of Chrysler 727 styles used, and even a GM Turbo 400
at one point. If you could narrow it down a little, I can try and be more
helpful.

All 72 and later cars used Torqueflites. The V8 version of the 904 (998/999) is what most AMC guys run.

This is also like an April Fool's thing for me.

I bought a 68 AMX a few months into the model year from a guy who couldn't afford the payments he thought he could. It had a totally junk Borg Warner automatic that needed rebuilt at 20k miles. The next year they changed to a Torqueflite.

In 67, I bought a Barracuda with the top engine offered - a 273/235. The next year the 340 was introduced.

Yes, I suck at timing.

What Tom said, what Foley wants a Gremlin/Pacer/Hornet in the trailer for those ahem questionable track conditions that a Copo might not enjoy?????
