Shop Cooler - Swamp Cooler
Anyone using a Port A Cool cooler or equal if so, what size?
I am looking at their 36" variable speed unit. My shop is 1800 sq ft and I am tired of burning up. Any all comments appreciated. Eric

Re: Shop Cooler - Swamp Cooler
As long as you have low humidity or dew point they work great. 36 inch will work in immediate area but not entire shop. Having 1 on wheels help when you work in different areas of shop, but hurt you when welding. To much wind. The larger 48 or more porta-cools are the ticket but expensive. Downdraft from ceiling with pyramid diverter directly below works good.

Re: Shop Cooler - Swamp Cooler
we have the 48 inch port a cool in my shop-2800 sq feet-works excellent- Get the 48, spend the extra money-good for about 12-15 degrees overall cooler-on 100 degree days our shop remains low eighties inside. The high temps the week before labor day, it was 107 in the drive outside the overhead door and 92 inside. still damn hot inside but way better than outside. cheap to operate, mine is 8 years oldl and we just replaced the pads this year.
