The Skyview Race
Has anyone else out there particapated in a race where you had to pay to get on the property and pay again on Sunday to stay on the property while they dried the track? The track workers were pretty rude when we told them we shouldn't have to pay ; decided the weather was not going to let us get the full race in and we were heading home. Also did anyone hear who won the 50/50 spilt for the drag strip as well as the oval track?

Re: The Skyview Race
Dave,
Unfortunately alot of tracks have started to do this because of the not so honest people that were taking advantage of them. People (SEVERAL) would come in and just pay for Saturday but stay all weekend. Most places here tell you how much refund you will get on the way out of the gate if you don't stay for Sunday. This in no way excuses someone from being rude to you but hope it helps understand a track operators stance. |

Thanks Marc, I fully understand the problem of less than honest people, just thought there should be a better way to monitor gate receipts. My local track runs a Cruise Nite, free admission, place is packed every week and they are NOT loosing money. Spectators are buying food, drinks etc.

Re: The Skyview Race
Recently the "goodguys" (oxymoron) held their nostalga race here at Pacific Raceways. after charging an entry fee they then wanted to charge for tow vehicle & trailer. many racers actually paid this redicoulus fee.can you top that for ultimate ripoffs. apparently the only thing the "goodguys" are good at is ripping off honest people who supply them with their show. shame on the new management at PIR for allowing this to happen at their track!
