Default COPO Horsepower adjustments

After the run at vegas this weekend the 580hp supercharged 350 in the COPO's has been increased from 580hp to 617hp, so the 580 hp is actually now rated higher than the 590hp variant. The 590hp engine is currently rated at 616hp.

If I'm not mistaken the FS/AA cars are actually able to run at a lighter weight than the FS/XX cars. So it was probably a matter of time before any of the competitive FS/XX cars ran at any event and went that fast. They could probably all run 7.9's at sea level in FS/AA weight, right? Certainly stinks when someone hits your combo, but there are so many fast new cars now days that I'm sure this won't be the last time they are hit.

Now the FS/AA weight is more than FS/XX after the hit, with the 580hp it'll have to run at 3565, and the 590hp at 3558, where the showdown cars were lowered from 3550 to 3525. I just find it amusing the 580 engine is now higher than the 590, also if they get hit again I dont think they can add much more horsepower, otherwise it'll go over 3,600lbs which is the limit for the cages, they'd almost have to just lower the index for the class. The horsepower can't be rated over 623hp without putting the cars over 3,600lbs, (624hp*5.5+170=3,602Lbs)
It doesn't hurt me much as I had my car setup at the showdown weight so I'm already pretty much there. Just curious to see what another hit will cause

It was the Mountain View sponsored COPO, they are claiming it is a 100% original motor that came in the car from chevy and they ran at 3415lbs on a run of 8.19 in Vegas. They are saying it was only a tune that got them there and they will be building a blueprinted motor for FS/XX next year. I only know this from facebook so I am by no means an expert on what they've done with the car or who is involved.

Led astray by Facebook? Inconceivable!

No, The engine is straight from GM "Duncan Michael" who ever that is should be proud if it... he built a good engine. The car is as it was delivered to the team with some additional Racepak stuff. Bob Wareham is crew chief and in charge of getting it down the track, I am tuning it and Dustin Lee will be handling the engine side once we start on that. All that was done was a proper tune up and some suspension work, the first time the valve covers came off was in tear down.
