Wrong..... I'll say something good I witnessed first hand.

I was waiting to run the SS final at the Memphis ntl event in 2005. As I waited for the track to be prepared for all the final runs, I walked up to the starting line to check things out. The tree was in the shadows and the lights were very hard to see. Rick was standing nearby so I approached him. I asked him if the track had any spotlites that they could place in front of the tree. He immediately called to the tower and they sent a pair of huge spotlites down to the start line. I thanked him and appreciated what he did.
He didn't have to do anything.... but he did.

.....I just wanted to give you "the other side of the story"!

Only you should not have had to point this out to him.
Someone of his position and "knowledge" should be on top of that before it becomes an issue.

Seems like a nice man to me. Not an easy job, and he gets blamed for about everything. The complainers might try doing his job for a weekend.

Smile Re: Who's going to miss rick stewart

I was running at the Gators in 04 and I had my exhaust closed coming up to the starting line, my dial was incorrect, so I blew the horn at him. He jumped about 2 feet, I think he almost crapped himself. He gave me an exceptional thumbs up to let me know that the dial was fixed. I was surprised he didn't give me other finger to go along with the fixed dial.

I wish this board used a rep system. I would give you +1 for that!
