Going on the western swing; however, our conversion & stacker are just under 80' combined. Cannot find a way to get a permit like we did for FL. Any suggestions?

Hoping you're correct! When I read this earlier, I felt that RVs were not included, that only a true semi tractor was referenced. Our Haulmark is 43' w/o the hitch & the stacker has a 30' box, putting it at about 34'.

You must be a commercial vehicle. IFTA tag and DOT number. Must fill out logs. Stop at scales RV's cannot be over 65 feet. Some people take there chances. Some people get caught.

Well I guess the rules were written only for the Pro's big rigs. I don't get why a conversion wouldn't be considered the same.
I have a friend who pulls a 26' boat (30' overall) behind his 45' Monaco and hasn't been stopped yet for being over lenght. I guess you can take a chance but you know with the money hungry government they will set up some sort of sting just to catch the other racers. |
