Sad to hear this news, Stan truly was quite a character. He always was seen wearing his familiar "Stan Hawes Institution of Technology" hat. He sold his red J/SA El Camino years ago, but would often be seen hanging out with his old racer buddys in the pits at Divisional races, and always seemed to be having a great time.

Not Stan Hawes! He was one of the good guys! I liked his El Camino as well. He always was a day brightner. We'll sure miss him!

Sorry to hear about this. Stan was always good to my family and I. History will remember him as being quite the character. There will never be another Stan Hawes Institute of Technology aka S.H.I.T.

RIP Stan.

As Rory alluded to, Stanley was quite the character …..in addition to being a DAMN good racer. He was always so excited AND just plain HAPPY to be at the track. He will be remembered as the founder of the Woodburn Aggravation Society and The Stan Hawes Institute of Technology. …...GODSPEED !!!!!!
