Default 1000 Feet will it be here to stay

The rumors are out there that several Div. 1 tracks will be moving to 1000 feet for sportsman racing.

LOL..... haven't heard that one.... YET.... but that would be ridiculous to even throw on the table.... and to my recollection, there haven't been any incidents that would warrant such a move..... who at the sportsman level doesn't have enough track in D1 to come to a safe stop.... Stockers???.... Super cars???.... If Manzo and the other alcohol guys are stopping safely, and there have been no top end incidents resulting in serious injury, why would this be even considered???.... certainly wouldn't be to save time.... they have been figuring out how to waste that all season.....

On the National level, I feel that 1000ft racing has hurt the sport more than helped it... the last two National Events I went to, the fans at the top end started to file out after Pro Stock Bike and Pro Stock... maybe because, if they feel like me, the 1000ft racing sucks.... why watch it..... the cars get going and they shut them off.......... BORING....

My Super racing is becoming more exciting.... LOL

Maybe just the alcohol cars will switch to 1000 foot racing?

The rumor surrounds TS and TD as the driving force. There are TD's going low 6's and TS going mid 6's. Give it another year and TS and TD will be eliminators at nation meets. The super classes will be consolidated with SC going away and SG and SST combining on a 500 tree at a 9.90 index. or 8 sec at 1000'. Time will tell. Tracks are making imporvements based on 1000', look at MG's annoucement.

wow, that would be some big change, why would they not go to 1/8 mile? as a div 1 racer it took me a while to adjust to it but i have to say i honestly like 1/8 mile better. 1000' just seems a little silly to me...

This is all "Rumor" and nothing else, I spoke to the D1 Top Sportsman rep yesterday and none of this nonsense about 1000' racing and eliminating classes and combining others was mentioned.
It is true that T/S and T/D will compete at Nationals next season.
1000' improvements are being made by National Event venues to appease the Top Fuel classes.
Alcohol cars are running 5's and are able to stop without an issue, so sportsman racing going to 1000'?.....I find it highly unlikley.

I heard only classes and or cars that run slower than 11.00 seconds in the quarter, will be switching to 1000' this way its speeds up the event....

I heard they are gonna make alcohol cars race to 60 foot next year .....

I heard a couple alcohol cars in D1 don't even own an oil drain bucket, they just let er rip on the track .....

I heard Hanley's super stocker is such a slug, he leaves off the middle bulb .....

I heard the jets drying the track this morning, which was weird, cause I was in a rest area on I-76
