Can anyone help with pictures or video of Jim Wick's Matchmaker Pro Stock Duster in May 1973 at the Spring Nationals in Columbus. It was the first and only race with the car having a full tube chassis. It had the new "lower stance" of the Pro Stocks. Only a couple pictures exist at the garage, but none at or on the track, prior to his crash.
Thanks, |

Yep. Thats the car. That picture and another one from a side angle are the only two pictures we have of the car after the chassis was redone and before it was crashed at the SpringNationals in May 1973. We are hoping to find pictures or video of it at Columbus.

Chevette from Div.4.
![]() It was "kool" for the spectators when they actually had divisional Pro Stock racers. Some would show up at the local tracks from time to time. ![]() Last edited by Charlie A; 03-13-2013 at 12:33 PM. |

Does any one know the where abouts or any thing about Tom Ely. He was a mechanic for Jack Werst and his SuperBird and maybe his 71 Pro stock Cuda.
Thank you for any help. Jack M in Ga. ASOHC427@AOL.COM ![]() Last edited by jsohc; 03-21-2013 at 11:21 AM. |

Yes I was! The arrow was Butch Leals Rod Shop pro stocker. I think the photo in the original post was taken at Motion Raceway in Assumption Il circa 1980 or 1981. |
