Paul the block split between 4 and 6 at its thinnest part in line with the crankshaft centerline , the block had 8 sleeves in it
I wonder if it had some core shift issues or maybe just the stress from the sleeves. I normally use .002" interference with thin wall sleeves. The cam break in tool idea sounds good, have you done it this way before, I'm wondering if the cam will miss the oil that is thrown off the rod journals. I'm guessing with only 4 cylinders and light springs the drill have it pretty easy. Will you run it continuous or in short sessions.

No crankshaft, all lifters are used, no valley pan, valve covers, I use the Comp additive, good oil in the pan, oil filter, stock springs, ceramic lifters, run time is about 20 to 30 min per four cylinders. Everything is mounted on a roll around engine cradle.

Would love to see a couple of photos of this setup Larry. Sounds like a good idea.
