Make the Chevrolet Win
I see NHRA added 50 to the Dodge Factory Cars. I mean the Chevrolet has to win. No Matter what. Only happens when the Dodges win. Don't matter who is working on them or tuning on them, the Chevrolet has to win by hook or crook. Mostly by crook. While we are at it, if you should desire to run a Hellcat in Stock, you only have to weigh 4770 lbs. That is like racing with 4 of me in the back seat. And all the new Stock Chevrolet Camaro are a few hundred lbs lighter than other new stock cars, but it's a Chevrolet. It has to win at any cost.

Spot on MR. Jeff, shades of 72-73, I'll stand in your corner. A certain rpm limit also comes to mind.

Re: Make the Chevrolet Win
I see your point Jeff, but the older Chevy stuff, some of it anyway is rated out of competition, like my 69 Nova, 396 iron head rated @ 412. Only has to weigh 3875 in C/SA.

Re: Make the Chevrolet Win
They did add 50, then they didn't. They added 25 pounds to the Drag Pak Dodges minimum weight and reduced the minimum weight for the COPOs and Cobra Jets by 25 pounds. http://nhraracer.com/content/general...155&zoneid=132
So it's the same but different. Also, I think the minimum weight for a 2008 Cobra Jet 5.4 liter with the smaller blower is an exception to all of the other cars in the class at 3350 pounds. |

Re: Make the Chevrolet Win
Did NHRA have ALL the factory stocks that qualified in the barn to see if they were a legal field or are they just using the illegal bogus Dodge that was DQed TWICE as an example to add weight ?

Re: Make the Chevrolet Win
That's what ya get for 'dominating' a Chevy race. Who didn't see this coming? Glad I didn't drop my $1/4 million into it. Shades of the death of Hemis in early '70's Pro Stock. (AND '16 for that matter!)
