After every day of racing when I put the car in the trailer I remove the vacuum hose from the pump inlet side and leave it off until the next time it comes out of the trailer. Then before I start the car I squart a little PB-50 in the inlet of the pump and put the hose back on. I also send my pump back to Moroso every winter and have them go through it. They always want to know if I ever use it much because it still looks new inside.
PB-50 is a general purpose lubricant made by PB Blaster. you can find it at most Home Depot and Lowes stores.
