Oil accumulators

I am going to install an oil accumulator on my BBC Stocker. I am afraid to lose another motor.

This is what I have already found out. I want a 3 quart accumulator. I want to use a solenoid at 35 to 40 psi. I have bought the adapter to run filtered oil to the accumulator.

Does anyone have any other thoughts about oil accumulators? the factory suggests filling it with 30 psi and lowering it to below 10 pounds. Is this correct? How much more oil do you run?
