I think what Jeff said does have some merit, but you need to be careful. I seem to remember some posts on this or another forum about a couple of guys being tossed for infractions in the piston/ rod area. If my memory serves me correct one was for claiming rods that weren't marked,etched or inkstamped, with the brand. The other was for pistons that didn't have all or the correct number stamping/etching.. I think you have to have the correct/approved aftermarket rod if you are not running a stock rod, even if the weight is correct. I'm real sure in a stocker the pistons have to be the original stock pistons or the correct part number from the approved list for the engine claimed.
These are just my thoughts on the subject and the way I read the rules. You might want to call or get in touch with your NHRA Division Tech and have a discussion.
