I wonder what the Divisional Schedule will look like? I think we have another 2 months till that comes out, does VMP stay with NHRA and keep a divisional or do they go back to IHRA and who replaces VMP if they go back to IHRA? Numidia, Another Atco, Maple Grove??
Hey Dave I'm looking at buying a snow plow for my Motorhome right now...haha |

Record setting air? They don't set Stk/SS records and there are no records as of now for the 1,000-foot fuel car classes. Although... It should be about time they set 1,000-foot records. I'm afraid to say that the Grove might have a monkey on it's back, and it's called Rain. And of course October could bring... Snow. Highly doubtful, but it could be cold.

They should be OK from a snow standpoint the first week of October, but they'll definitely be playing with fire in the rain department (if that makes any sense). What I don't understand is:
NC, Dallas, Maple Grove, Vegas, and Pomona in that order? How about NC, Maple Grove, Dallas, Vegas, and Pomona? Not only would this move up Maple Grove to a point in the year that it is less likely to get rain, but it would keep the pros from having to zig-zag across the country (again), and would make it easier for those guys from the east coast to head west. Not to mention that there is another 3 week lag between the MG and Vegas events (there's one after the Western Swing too, which I think is poor planning as it lands right at the end of July to the middle of August - prime summer months). Are they trying to stretch this out as long as possible over the calendar year?

Jason,
Do they ever make sense with some of their decisions? I do like the fact that after Gainesville their is another East Coast Race in Charlotte. Usually after G-Ville we have to wait 2 months till another race. You think most of the Pro teams are based in Indy anymore so it's a halfway point for any race team. I'm more interested in what the Divisonal Schedule will bring when that is released and what if any sportsman classes will be eliminated or will they run all the classes since NHRA is in "Money Trouble" and could use the push.I really wonder what VMP will do, maybe do what Columbus did and still stay NHRA and have a Divisional and Sportsnational race?? It's just the beginning.... |
