If you aren't running tubes you might want to consider them. They helped my reaction time.

I think they were D5 compound - 1672's, sold that car about 5 years ago... but I would not be locked to the Goodyears... They worked very well for me, but Hoosier and Mickey have good tires also. Look at who has the size you need, in a stiff wall.
Also, as others have said, tubes are an option. I ran them for a while, but got away from them. Pros and cons to tubes... They do stiffen up the tire some, and do not leak down as bad, but always risk tearing, and the added weight. Some say harder to balance the tires with tubes, etc.
I always soaped the insides of my slicks and ran without tubes for the last several years, both on my big tires and the 9" stocker slicks.

Good luck.

My opinion: you will get many more runs out of a set of Mickeys. I had a set of Goodyears on my car once and wore them out in 60 passes. Put a set of Mickeys on it and i can go 150 no problem. Also, with Mickeys, you don't need NEAR as big a burnout. (this is just from my experiance). I have a 3200lb 92 Camaro that I've found 10 lbs works best with. Last year switched from regular to stiff sidewall and was very impressed with the results!! Much more consistent 60'!! Give Mickey Thompson a try, you won't regret it.
