Before there were programmable boxes, the NASCAR engine builders would bend the tangs on the distributor reluctor for the cylinders they wanted to retard or advance, then check the results by putting a timimg light on each cylinder. I guess it was trial and error until they got the right amount of change.

Why not just put a hotter or colder plug in that cylinder.

Poor flow??? What cyd's and whats the firing order Ford,Chevy??Are you using a carb?? If it's lean in those cyds would more fuel help?? This can be done..

Put a colder, non extended tip plug in it.
If you are using a stock dist. I think PPPC sells a dist. relucter (SP) that has bendable legs.

It's been 6-7 years since I read the sale literature when it first came out, but I am 95% certain I remember MSD's Digital 7 does exactly what you are asking for... individual advance/retard by individual cylinder.
