It would seem that, for example, a 1968 Camaro running in GT with an automatic transmission, regardless of engine choice, would be classified on the basis of the shipping weight of the car when equipped with the heaviest gasoline engine that was coupled with an automatic in a 1968 Camaro. That would be, I think, a 396 engine with TH400 transmission. That would be the case even if the car were run with a small block in a GT class and would certainly be different than the shipping weight of the same car equipped with a 350" engine w/PG trans.
