Wow nice collection Mr. Burke. I would also like to add the 69 Cobra hardtop or formal roof was a 45 code for the 3rd and 4th numbers.

Hi Kris,
As I'm sure you saw I did post the Cobra coupe. Thanks for the compliment on the collection,. Those are just the one pertinent to this topic {yes I have more cars}. FYI, I ran a 1969 Cobra Stocker in D/SA a few years ago {won class in Houston with it in 2003} but went back to my Mustang. Thanks again, Marty |

You guys are the 'experts',,,,,
Proper name,,,,,,,,,,'Ford Cobra' I wonder whatever happened to the 'Speed Age Magazine' tested car. All dealer installed options, except for the factory Drag-Pack. Probably some Ford Detroit-dealer sales manager ended up with it. 1 of 1... |

I don't believe a whole hell of a lot from any magazine..but car&driver and Road&track have got to be the worst excuses of magazines besides....motortrend.
Pro import, ALWAYS slower in dragracing than any other magazine test of any car. In other words, they suck. I'm suprised they didn't call it a Cobra, torino jet, 390SS, GT! |

For us non-Ford experts,,,,,,,,,
The 1969 Ford Fairlane/Torino (same car) * Fairlane,,,,,,,,,,,(Low-level trim group) * Fairlane 500,,,(Intermediate trim group) * Torino,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(High-level trim group) * Torino GT,,,,,,,,,(High-level trim group with GT Sports Package) * Cobra,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(428 Cobra-Jet engine, standard engine) Note: The 302-2V / 210 HP was the standard engine on all Fairlane/Torino models, except for the Cobra. Note: The bucket seats and center-console were a required option ($54) for the Cobra 'Hardtop' model. pc Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 11-23-2011 at 12:15 PM. |
