I did not know that they also had a factory B029 '68 Hemi Barracuda as well...I always seen their '65 Plymouth A990 that was later converted into a A/FX altered wheel base car in many old photos.

How about a few more old shots of some of the DeFrank & Cohen '68 Hemi Barracuda's...

OK southern racers. In the late '80's R&R Speed Shop in Huntsville AL raced an original '68 Dart. I don't know where it came from but I arranged the sale of it to a guy named Bill (not Blair) from Concord NC.
Does anyone have information on where it came from or where it went after the sale? JimR

If it is the one I am thinking of - it was originally called "Rumble Bee" - probably still was - originally out of NC - it is still around owned by a collector/racer in PA - hing he drives a CJ now.
The white Barracuda is Ray Christian's old car - here owned by Bob Stape - former manager of Keystone Dragway Nelson Stoltz restored his old Willys - talked to him and saw the car at the HRR in Bowling Green a number of years ago. Mark J 1968 Hemi S/S Registry |

Paul,
Nice list - but there are a few mistakes - same car listed twice, 2nd owners, not real cars and some cars were not Darts or Barracudas. I made many of the same mistakes when I started the registry. One hint since the Joe Smith photo came up - The Joe Smith car and the McBroom Motors car are the same - I have pics of both and it is Joe Smith's car not sure what happened to the Dealer Sponsorship. Mark J 1968 Hemi S/S Registry Th A.J. Foyt photo is interesting because he DID run a Chrysler very briefly for Norm Nelson in USAC - Norm was from here in town and his son showed me some pics of both cars on the trailer - 65 Plymouth I beleive - this might have been the Dealer that sponsored the car??? |

I arranged it's sale to a man in Concord NC who was buying up Chrysler factory race cars as an investment. When I visited him he had two Darts and an A990 Dodge and a bunch of aluminum body parts for 63 and 64 Max Wedge cars and a one off magnesium cross member for an AWB '65 car. I don't know what happened to them after that. JimR
