Hey, Does anybody know if the Jim Hale Car in the pic is the same car that became white and black and was sponsered by Mopar Performance?

Someone mentioned Ron Cheshire. I remember in about 1983 Cecil Petty was racing a 1965 Coronet in SS/CA (Mopar Mastadon). I was crewing for him and we went to an IHRA race at a converted horse track in La. Ron came with a 1965 Dodge I think he said came from Jimmy Johnson is northern La. I believe he got it from Bill Gibbs. Harris Mabry was with Ron and had a white 67 WO23. That Harris had some pretty good stories about his racing days. |

I raced with all those guys. Harris is a character not easily forgotten. Lloyd and Ron are truly some great people. A friend of mine and I almost bought a '68 Camaro C/SM car from Lloyd called the "Outhouse Mouse". That was in his days before the Hemis. Ron is someone I call a friend. I still have a business card from him when he worked for Southwestern Bell. Harris . . . well, Harris is a good ole country boy - none better.

Funny how the angle of a picture can throw off the idea I had already seen and posted that very car.
I read the restoration link. What an outstanding effort! From what they found to completed car...... I have done a restoration or two, or I thought I had. Compared to that, I repainted something. Post the link so the others can appreciate the work. |

This is an A990 Dodge that was run with a Plymouth front end in the UDRA circuit until 1970. Car was reportedly cut up by the next couple owners and eventually scrapped in the 70's.
