I was thinking that the Hale '65 went to Southland and then to Tim Hebert? The 5-50 car sure looks like the Hale car in red though. These Hemi cars seem to get traded around in a small circle of racers.

It's interesting to watch the evolution of the hood scoop as the cars aged, they seem to get bigger and bigger openings as the years went by.

I seem to remeber reading a article that the 5/50 car was a recent new build for NSS racing. Not a real a990.

So heres an interesting question...(Im sure there are lots of opions..) Is the Car a clone? If an original Car is recreated by the original owner...I tend to believe that it is a second car...not a clone...it does carry quite a few original 990 parts...not that it matters a bit, it now enjoys a life in NSS where it will be raced and enjoyed as it was intended....hopefully seeing its first 8 second pass in 2012!! |
