My son has raced the last two years in IMCA sport compact class, the festiva is just not a car that would be competive. Neons or some other dual cam engine is what most run. Cavaliers are what we run 2.2 pushrod motors and have had good luck with or find a early model quad 4 some of them are 180 hp from the factory. If you need more info call me at 402-329-6795. Tom

I echo what Tom said about the power potential of the Festiva, it has none. Some of the festiva gurus put the Mazda 323 engine in them (supposedly a direct fit). For the local dirt track around here in the front wheel drive class Saturns rule! Don Jackson
