You can go much higher than 10.5-1 on pump gas. I run 93 octane and i'm at 11.77-1.

I know my opels lite at 2100 pounds with me in it but I have a little 355 with the first dart heads they made running on sunoco ultra with a 650 holley, 4500 stall conv ,430 gears and im running 10.20's at 132 mph. Nothing more than a street motor would be and very dependable. Dave
