A Dedenbaer electric plate stop needs to be powered to be wide open.
In the old days when we used those stops with no timer.....I had a toggle switch to power it on the burnout....so it would be wide open.....that circuit just over rode the other normal circuit.... after that it was powered thru a switch on the shifter....wide open in low gear only.... If you are taking power away during the burnout the blades will close....
