Looks like possibly a grey or silver jackstand under the elbow, I'm thinkin'.
It seems most of the articles and features back in the day would often show Mike and Dick Landy wearing those white pants,,, and they were never dirty! They must've had a truck full of them, clean and ready to wear. Danny Durham |

I read somewhere that it was in their contract with Chrysler because
they wanted to get away from the Rebel Without a Cause bad-boy biker type of image that early drag racing took on. Must have been a bitch to try to get anything done in those! I couldn't walk from the truck to the trailer without having an "incident".
