FAIRHAVEN ? Joseph Moniz, 80, of Sea View Avenue in Fairhaven died on Sunday, October 21, 2007, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, PA. Born in Fairhaven, the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Costa) Moniz, he was the husband of Bernice Claire (Adams) Moniz.

Mr. Moniz worked for Linberg Marine as a pile driver and foreman for twenty-five years, retiring in 1989. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of Saint Joseph?s Church, Fairhaven.

Besides his wife he leaves one son, Michael Joseph Moniz of Fairhaven; two brothers, Antone Moniz and Mariano Moniz, both of Fairhaven; two sisters, Olive Santos and Alice Faustino, both of Fairhaven; two grandchildren, Melissa Moniz and Shelley Moniz of Fairhaven; and one great-grandson, Jordan Soares of Fairhaven. Mr. Martin was the brother of the late Herman, John, Alfred, Manuel Moniz and Ida Quirk.
