what size front tire are you running ?
Just changing from a 25" to a 23" tire could be a substantial reduction in reaction time.
launch rpm also is an area to look at ,I dont know your combination,but that could be an area to look at.
You can also raise the front spring platform ,raising the front of the car 1/2" -3/4' . this dosent sound like much , but you are in effect limiting the travel and at the same time raising the center of gravity of the car.
If you are removing ballast to run SG , try leaving some in . as long as you dont need to take it out to run the number.
