Dale,
Here are both ends of the master cutoff cable. The "taillight" end has a flat strap tab with clamp and the "shifter" end has a clip like used with a dragster throttle cable.

The drivers handle moves about 1/2 the distance the shifter moves. In the above photos the drivers handle is "off"

Looks good, Larry.
I just finished fabricating a shift mount for the Quarter Stick in my Mustang. It's wedge shaped sloping down towards the front to straighten the stick out for the 2-3 pull. The lever could mount to the side like you have going. The car is buttoned up for a coat of primer right now. I'll post a pic of the shifter setup in a few days. Between your build and Rich Taylor's Ford vs Chevy thread I get a lot of useful ideas. I'm sure he reads this, so thanks to both of you. Dale |

After looking at your use of the K&R air armed unit, I also purchased one. that is a trick little piece. I am using it for my street/strip dodge coronet. it will be for the three speed shifter and also tires.thanks for the idea. I am just not convinced for my t-stop use in the race car, I will stick to co2 for that one, lots less chance of water contamination. I have been debating the use of a battery cut off inside the car, love the safety aspect of it and if I forget to turn the master on. BUT somehow, somewhere I am sure I would accidentally hit it and kill the car during a race.

The vision is coming along. Fenders & hood temporary set on for fit check. I wanted to double check where some wiring and some components will be mounted.

Keith,
note that the switch handle is well ahead of the shifter. This buildup is the 4th time I have incorporated the drivers electrical cut off handle in a race car. After many runs never any remote situation where the switch was accidentally turn off. During a run you are no where near the lever. However, there have been several times I was strapped in, ready to roll and the power was off. Turning on power is as easy as reaching beyond the shifter and pulling a lever. Very convenient.

Any ideas who would adjust the 2 step going down the track, and why? Just no logic behind some rules.
