Team Woodfin had a good outing at the Thunder Road D 4 Lucas race.
We ran .420 under first round which I think with limited data and limited runs is a good number. We have a total of 9 runs on the truck including todays final. Due to our work schedules we only got one run Friday. The first round contest was between me and Ed Wright. It was a good tight race, double break out, with me going under more than Ed. Photos and other updates soon.

The Super 10, winding down the series.
Since the heading of this section is " under construction" the Super 10 no longer fits the subject matter. On the first page about a year ago I stated the project posting would go all the way to racing super stock at a Lucas event. That goal was accomplished Sept 19 & 20 at Thunder Road Raceway near Shreveport La. It was a team effort that allowed the accomplishment and I am personally grateful for the excellent help. If you have question about any section of the build I will answer your questions. Other than that, I do not plan to continue the series with the exception of an occasional update.

There was a ton of smoke, hope it didn't eat a motor. |

Colby,
It is sad news for Team Woodfin and the Super 10 engine. Pulling the valve cover and a quick check showed the engine broke #3 intake valve. We licked our wounds, loaded up and towed home to Kilgore. I do not know the extent of the damage now. I will tear down and see what can be salvaged then formulate a new plan. I like the Super 10 package and think it is a good match for me. Considering what could be broken and considering what the replacement parts will cost I may change engine combinations. Too soon to tell just now but if the 327 parts have major damage I may change to the 1970 Camaro 350/360 engine factored @ 330 with Edelbrock heads [#60477 head] Doing so would take 40 or so pounds off the front and the truck would like that.
