1st, i think you have a letter in your possession that may have already banned you from competition.
1A if it is in the guide, run it. 2nd the paint will not be a problem if you clear coat it. PPG industries has a paint Patina package that sure looks like your car. 3rd, hitch looks like a bolt on, so that might be the only problem. good luck, cannot wait to see this car run with a reher morrison hemi. |

In case you took me seriously, the paint rule was a joke...
This isn't. I found it on the web: Quote:
The 66 Coronet 500 4 door with the 426 HEMI is, indeed, in the NHRA Stock Car Classification Guide. Dale

Not sure how a '66 Coronet 500 4-door of any kind is in the NHRA Guide since none were produced. Stephen has 2 Hemi Deluxe model Sedans that he mentioned. All of the known 4-door '66 Hemi Coronets (4 total, 3 auto, 1 4-speed) are also Deluxe models. Not saying no base Hemi 4-door sedans were not built. They just haven't shown up yet... |

I'm thinking of '65 then. I know there were none in '65.
Sorry about that. As far as the actual '66 Hemi 4-door production. It's far greater than what is known. I think an in-depth search of the Chrysler microfiche records would shock many of the "experts." I have an eyewitness account of 4 matching '66 Hemi Coronet four doors that were at a dealer-only auction in August of 1966. None of those have surfaced yet. The original owner of my '66 Hemi Sedan went to buy one of those cars, but ended up buying the Sedan I now have instead. I have questioned some of the other people that were with him at that particular sale, and they also recalled the four matching four doors being there with Hemi engines in them. |
