Yes, but CORPORATION is part of the pre-printed portion of the document, not the part that gets typed in specifically for each vehicle, and would be expected to be a different type-set... my thought on it, anyway.

That is because it is part of the preprinted form, using the font "Futura".

Such fonts was not possible with typewriters or machine writers, as they only worked with "fixed-width" fonts, and because of the fixed width, they couldn't make that much difference between 0 and O.

But if you compare the white areas inside 0 in 55024 and the O in LO23, you will probably aggree that the area is clearly smaller in the 0.

You're misquoting here a little- that statement was Charlie A's; not mine. The way it's posted it looks like I said that. I already said that was because of that being part of the preprinted form. BUT- good to know about why the "O"s and "0"s look so much alike, due to fixed-width font. Thanks!
