Window Tint?

Anybody ever find something that will make 27 year old window tint loosen up? I've been using ammonia and a razor blade, there's got to be a better way.

use a fabric steamer or an old fashioned hair dryer to apply heat to the film then keep the heat on the area you are removing --you have to get the film warm so that it will release from the adhesive --when finished use goo gone or similar product to remove the adhesive residue--- takes time but it works---FED 387

Just scrape it when dry with a razor blade in a holder. Then use Sprayway surface cleaner foam or similar. Use the scraper again.That glue was water based at one time . Might take a couple shots at it .

I finally got the side windows clean. I threw every chemical I could think of at it and nothing worked. I scraped it with a razor blade and cleaned it with ammonia. The big challenge will be the monster back glass. This is my gen3 Camaro I'm working on.

I went down this road about 20 years ago with my Mustang. The amount of work may not justify the cost of replacement lighter glass. I just remember using a heat gun and razor blade.

Heat doesn't help at all . It just makes it gooey-er and hard to work. You won't hurt the glass with a razor blade. Bend the blade and grab it with a small vise-grip for concave surfaces, or use half the blade , then the other.
The glass opens and comes off on those, right?
