Simple case of a set Clevite H series bearing out of their original packaging, lets move on to flow numbers and dyno data, and finally track testing data. If you have instant oil to the top of the engine at the hit of pre lubing, thats something you better fix.

VP C-12 is the DEVIL! Heads are rusted like crazy, had to pound some of the exhaust valves off the seat, real bad. Little work on the heads today, going to throw everthing in the washer next week.

Cool Re: H-I-J '76 Nova re-fit.

Every time I shut my cars down for any length of time after using C-12, I fog the motor. That means to fire it up, open the throttle with the engine running and put a couple ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil or even plain old ATF down the carb. When a puff of smoke appears out the headers, shut it off. The oily film prevents rust from appearing on the valve faces and seats and the cylinder walls. C-12 is a very dry fuel and it leaves metal surfaces unprotected from humidity in the atmosphere causing rust. I imagine Florida has more than its share of humidity year round.

C11 is faster, fog motor with WD-40 after engine cools down use starter button open throttle blades crank it over for about 10 seconds works good in Florida.

Thanks Kenny, I had been warned about it, didn't realize it would be this bad.

I'm not sure I trust it. Rusty within a couple days inside an air conditioned building, I may just change fuel.
