All I have to do on this thread is thank everyone that helped. That is going to take a while and being the age I am I will forget or not mention some one who has helped. After three years of work I forgot some stuff, please do not be offended.

This weekend we were able to meet our performance goals on an eighth mile.

Thanks to all!

What was the source of the vibration?

It could have been several things. I changed the drive shaft position and decreased TIR by .007, installed new tail shaft bushing, installed new bushing in front drum, and changed converters. I'm not sure what it was but it's gone. The converter in the car now is quicker the the one that was in it so the chances of that converter going back in the car are slim.
The good thing is the vibration is ok.

The trans we destroyed in Dumbo is fixed and on the way back home.
All parts in trans were junk, rear ring gear, rear planet, rear sun gear, sun shell, front sun shell, front sun gear, front planet gear, front ring, all bearings, forward drum, direct drum, bands, clutches and steels, rollers, gasket, seals and filter.

Hp is good to have but has a cost.

We are looking forward to going to Belle Rose in November to race it at the open. Jeff and I have a small wager on this race to add a little excitement.
Hope to see a lot of friends at this race so y'all come on down

I had to go to a transmission shop to get some gaskets and a few small stock parts. If you run a trans that has not been made for a while, I would suggest getting one or two cores just for parts.

Good news. We got new stronger parts from ProTrans, Joel’s on Joy installed and tested. Installed trans in car and it ran the same. We went four rounds at the local track in foot brake. I forgot about the stripe taker on the front of my competition.
Change oil, adjust valves, and head to Belle Rose later this month.

Dumbo liked the Louisiana air, best run was the 9.125 @ 145.xx. It’s been a long journey but I think I’m close to done.

After my hand is fixed and healed, adding some data loggers, dyno time, testing, win the championship. Pretty much the same as last year and every year, with the exception of the surgery and the extra logging.

I have planed to do this while my hand is on the mend from surgery. In a couple of months my left hand should be a whole lot better. But while I'm healing I will try to thank everyone that has contributed to the success of Dumbo.

Jeff Teuton, Dale Aldo, Gary Jennings, Goodyear, Kevin Helms, John Morris, Eric Cunningham, Dale Matthews, Zack Ross, Wallace Stanford, Billy Godbold, David Page, Cooter Hidalgo, Randy Eakins, Matt Maxwell, Shawn at Southland performance, Sid Bonnecarrere, Jeff Taylor, Geoff Turk, Tony at BES, Harrold Bettis, Jimmy Ronzello, Dennis Breeden, Keith Lynch, Mike Fuller, Joel from Joel’s on Joy, Mike Wagnor, Mike from MPR, Kile Carothers, Calven Elston, Jerry Wittig, Jeff McAdoo, Rock Hass, Jerry Bennet, Brad Van Lant, Wiring Wizard BobToy, Doug Duell, Crag Madox, Charle at ATI, Brad Rounds at T&E, Darren at Advance Motion, John Richardson, Frank at Tommy’s, Jimmy Bridges, George Widuch, John at Classic Instruments, Jason at Mark Williams, the Smith family at Pro Trans, Wesley at NHRA, Keith at Total Seal. John Donato.

To all the great folks that have helped and yet to be named, please forgive me I’m doing this from memory. At my age I’m lucky to remember how to get to town and back.

As anyone can see I have some really special people to listen to and take their advice.

An a extra special thanks to all the folks at IHM Used Parts for your continued support.

Of course with me every step of the way is my family, son Chris, and my oh so tolerant wife of 50 plus years Patsy.
