With this answer I'm assuming this car won't be used for street driving. I personally have an 83 mustang that I daily drive, but also race from time to time. For one run I mounted a gopro to watch the rear suspension on a run, and WOW was it a mess(bear in mind this is a stick car). Crazy pinion angle, some wheel hop, and a whole lot of typical fox body squat. The only modifications so far is a set of aftermarket lower control arms. In your case, I would definitely get a good set of rear shocks for the car, but would also take a good look at getting some stiffer springs for the rear. I've also heard a lot of people used to run air bags in the rear, but that may be just to maintain some streetability.

I have used this setup with success. Anti-squat suspension. They have several different types including street strip. I think it’s priced reasonably.
