To fans of this thread and many other Pontiac threads. Old skool unfortunately passed away. Super nice guy and loved stock and super stock Pontiacs
Was a few months back just thought I’d give mention to it here. |

I'm sorry to hear that. I never met him but he seemed like a pretty good guy and he sure loved his Pontiacs!

On another note: I am trying to figure out where the herslow and murlock race car went. Have a feeling it ended up w Don Kennedy can anyone confirm that?
Can now confirm it did not end up there. Would like to find out where it ended up though. Last edited by Cstockbird; 08-11-2022 at 01:24 PM. |

Truman Fields Hard Times picture in A/S. A/S=
8.00 RY68 7.50 RY69 7.00 RY70-71 9.00 RY72 the "pure stock" year 8.00 RY 73-up RA2 W/P=8.57 at FHP=385 RA1 W/P=9.17 at FHP=360 (GTO rating) Fields won C/S=9.00 class at 73 Indy, and ran in C/S=9.00 at 74 Indy (famous mystery picture vs Dick Simon A/SA=8.00 Fairlane ragtop). I had concluded that Fields Hard Times started out running RA2 but then ran as a RA1 W/P=9.17. This picture seems to confirm he made that change in 1972, probably because the RA2 at W/P=8.57 was too hot even for 1972's A/S=9.00 class. Then the car continued to win as a RA1 car. Was hoping Oldskool would chime in but I guess that will be later and elsewhere. |
