Drained the Dana 60 lube and inspected the 14 year old gears. Very smooth with zero tight spots. It looks good enough to go another 100K miles

We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It much easer to see through the hole in my wallet.

Thanks to the Holley school information we now have the proper tools to crimp connections. The cost was a little high but the quality of the crimp is well worth it, thanks Tom. I am still having to find a few parts in bar stock.

Bob Toy is almost finished, I should be able to drop the drive train in this week. Getting all the wires out of harms way will be a challenge. We are ready to smell some smoke. The time consuming part will be getting the weight correct at each wheel while observing ride height. And then its test, test, test. Indy is fast approaching.

A dunce cap for me I ordered the incorrect alternator and will have to redo the bracket if I can not find the correct alternator. A stupid old man trick!

It was easier to order the correct type alternator than to fabricate a new mounting bracket. The new alternator is more than double the output of the old one. The wire from the battery to the alternator had to be enlarged a few sizes to carry the amp load. I hope the increased output may affect performance in a positive way due to higher voltage available at the injectors.
The more I learn the more I realize what I don?t know.

Sometimes I pat myself on the back to soon. The newly fab bracket got installed, checked for clearance and service access, installed and adjusted sensor only to realize I forgot to paint it. Today I will fix that.

Just a week of disappointment nothing went according to plan. All the parts orders arrived as promised, that's good. Everything is on hold until we get some things ironed out. Everyone is healthy. Later.

I was Abel to get back in the saddle yesterday afternoon and it felt great, just me and my little piece of aluminum. I am still trying to get the new alternator mount and line up with the new pulley. We are installing a larger pulley to keep alternator RPM within recommended guidelines. I never had that problem with the pink Cuda. Changing from a Bosch to a Power Master Denso style alternator should be easier than it has become. Two different shaft sizes.
Racing Rule # 1 It is a Chevy world!
Pulled the valve covers, looked at the plugs. Plugs looked great. Checked the lash and the worst one was out .002. Most but not all had the same feel on the feeler gage. Brad Rounds at T and D make some really good rocker arms they adjust easily and stay put.
Back to work.
