While I have never had the privilege of meeting Cal, just from the NHRA.TV winners interview you could tell how likeable he is.
I just turned seventy-eight and wow does Cal make me feel like a slacker! Good Job! |

I'm in my seventies amd remember reading about Cal, and some still active others like Dick Maris, Ben Wenzel in Super Stock and Drag Illustrated, Car Craft Magazine and National Dragster.
For Cal to win this race and especially againt the reigning champions, the great Joe and Hal Sorensen. I think of Bobby Warren and hope he's well. |

This pegs the cool meter!! We met Cal and Mary Ann at SGMP a couple yeas ago. Probably 79 or 80 then and still driving all the way across the country!! Congrats Cal!!

Class Racing Today (Brian Anderson/Bobby Fazio) had an interview with Cal about 3 years ago (episode 48). Always worth watching again.
