Noticed that IHRA is using the older (3 tenths slower) indexes, so plenty of cars, about 2/3rd of the field, are at least a full second under. Wondering if IHRA has any version of the AHFS system, or if they did before they dropped class racing. Also noticed that other than a single "crate motor" car, all are regular NHRA classes. Having some real competition for NHRA certainly should be a good thing.

Thanks everyone for chiming in with pictures and Qualifying sheets. So far we have 33 Stockers and 31 Superstockers and there may be more that are coming.

Yes they are using the Indexes that are 3/10s softer than the current NHRA Indexes. The Track had good prep and everything is very Professional, with all new equipment and timing system. All Sportsman classes completed 3 rounds of Qualifying with Scales and Fuel Check and they had time to have a fun Golf Cart Race.

This Morning it rained and has a cool and cloudy forcast, we are scheduled to have one more Qualifying pass and then into Eliminations for the first race.

Get some pictures of Larry Nelson's restored 1955 Chevrolet P/S Stocker. Beautifully restored car(raced in SS/T then) he raced back int early 70s.Winner of the Summernationals, runner up at the World finals. Beat Bob Glidden numerous times forcing Bob to go to Pro Stock.LOL

Good to see that both Stock and Super Stock fields have doubled since the last time they ran at National Trials, back in July. Nice progress!!

The last IHRA Class Race (the Eliminator) had myself and Andy Kronenbitter in the final at Dragway 42. The following Monday they announced IHRA was a "Bracket Only" organization. Not one mention about it from IHRA, including the pictures with the then current President.... (Mike Dunn). Not a peep....... In that entire span from the beginning till this last race IHRA did not incorporate any type of HP AHFS system. I faintly remember them adjusting their Crate motor engines the old fashion way, (they just hit them). Tuton or someone that ran Top Stock will chime in and fill us in hopefully. They were adjusting them also.

As for car counts. Josh Peak told me that at the first race here they had 104 cars. Milan was in the 150 range. Here they are in the 250 range and cars are still trickling in. They gaining traction and you feel appreciated for a change. The racers supper tonight was really good and well attended. Not just a boiled weinnie on a stale bun with a pack of mustard. A real sit down meal.

When they made the decision to not run today it kind of shot them in the foot. 20 minutes later the sun popped out humidity left cool breeze and everything dried up quickly. Perfect racing weather. They have pushed this race to Sunday. A lot to get done now.

Verses, NHRA skipping ALL Class Run Offs at the Sportnationals last year with the same kind of issue. That track gets damp at night after an all-day rain. After dark they always end up shutting everything down before someone stuffs their ride. NHRA just chose to skip class instead of using the "rain out day" as its intended purpose. Everybody left Saturday instead of using the rain out day... Remember that? We were furious.

I was unable to run the first race that was to finish on Sunday, IHRA gave me my entry fee back!!! That is awesome, Wouldn't get that elsewhere.
