Alzheimer can be such a debilitating disease. Al was always a very nice man at the races. I can remember one year when I was racing my G/SA Camaro he was so nice and helpful. He could have just left me to my problem 35 yrs ago in the staging lanes with my car not starting, he just jump right in and we found the broken ground wire(kiss principle at work but I forgot all about it in the lanes, he reminded me.lol) Anything I can do to help let me know. Prayers and thoughts are with both.CR

I was just a about 19 years old running a K/SA Olds Cultlas when I met Al. He was such a gentleman giving me tips on the combination. Haven't seen him in 25 years, but I can still remember what a nice guy he was to me and my family.
Best Wishes, Darin Grossi |

I remember when he won Bowling Green with that cool wagon and how he'd be first in line all the time. Always rooted for him because he had the same number as my dad – 3007

Al won the Bowling Green points meet when the Ronnie Milsap group owned the track. Unfortunately , the check bounced and he received 0 dollars from the track. Al loved being the first one in the lanes. Back in the day the first few racers could run down the track WITHOUT getting their run card punched....a free time run...those were the days....

Al has helped me several times, in the sand spurs ground of Rockingham, the tall grass at Indy, or wherever he was needed. A great friend and race mechanic. Bev cooked like your mom, with love and just the right seasoning. Bev baked Patsy a birthday cake at Atlanta one year and it was great. She would express her opinion just like your mother. We love them!
