Re: Help find the history of this 64 Savoy Lightweight
Thank you. Believe it or not I gave this lead a chase a couple months ago. I will revisit it.

Re: Help find the history of this 64 Savoy Lightweight
Perhaps moving forward a bit. A friend has sent an image of a car out of Houston campaigned as the Flying Wedge. All physical signs point to this possibly being the car. We're working on it...
Anyone recall the 1964 Savoy known as the Flying Wedge? |

Re: Help find the history of this 64 Savoy Lightweight
At some point in "Aggravation's" career it migrated from Jack Rieger Chrysler Plymouth in San Antonio to where it was purchased from in Pasadena TX i 1985.
"The Flying Wedge" was campaigned by Larry Chabert in 1965. Below is the announcement noting this car as being "new" to the track. All options identified in the article are the same as how "Aggravation" was optioned new. Are these two cars one in the same? A couple questions are posed. Did Larry Chabert purchase "The Flying Wedge" new from Jack Rieger Chrysler Plymouth? Larry Chabert has passed on and his son doesn't have much information on his dad's former car. If Larry didn't buy "The Flying Wedge" new, who in San Antonio did? Finally, our history searching has a person by the name of "Roland" owning the car in 1985. Roland lived off Strawberry Rd in Pasadena. Anyone familiar with Roland? Much thanks to George Panek who's been a invaluable resource through this process. |

Looks like a '64 in the background of this photo.
