Looking to build a spare engine for my 84 GT Camaro. Currently run the 402/340 engine. Have many of the parts, just would like to know what everyone thinks is the best factored BBC? Is it the flat top oval port 454 or is the 402 still good? Thanks!

I would think the later model 74-76? 454 like Grossi and Johns run would be very good.

Yea Robert, I like that combo also. It is a peanut port head flat top 454. It was rated 325 initially but is now at 340?? Nice thing about it is a cam and head change gets you to the 370 hp engine which is a good one. My friend, who knows this stuff, still likes the 402 so I wanted to get others ideas.
