Re: Has there ever been a 4 cyl. car run in the 11's in Stoc
I've been looking at the various Ford turbo 4 cylinder combos for SS for quite some time and had petitioned NHRA to allow non V8 GT cars (GT is currently V8 only). With a swap over to a flat steel hood, my car could run these classes. As mentioned there are some killer combos out there if they were legal. I think NHRA sees the can of worms that could occur if these combos were made legal and doesn't want to mess with it.
Joe, regarding how fast a 4 cylinder can run in SS, if someone wants to compensate me for killing the SS/ES index, I'll show how far into 10's I can run. Jim Caughlin SS 6019 |

Re: Has there ever been a 4 cyl. car run in the 11's in Stoc
Well, 37 days after I started this thread and posted the question, I get my answer.
Marty Buth officially made the first 11 second pass at an NHRA event with a 4 cylinder powered Stocker on May 24, 2014 in Bowling Green, KY Congrats to Marty ! ( If I had just left 5.8 seconds earlier, I would have been the first....darn. LOL ) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g1AG7E9QEU"]httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g1AG7E9QEU[/ame]

^^ LOL Dan, this is for you: Dan: As far as the 10's go, I'll leave that to the 2015 Mustang 2.3L Ecoboost racers. (if it gets included into the Stock Car classification guide)
