I wasn’t “trying” to get HP on the combination. I had it weighted down, timing out and other measures trying to run about 1.05-1.10 under, yes I did intend to be number one qualifier because it’s good for business. This was the 9th run ever on the car and it’s been giving us fits. It left extremely lazy and I figured no way it was going fast enough to worry. Unfortunately or fortunately, it seems maybe we fixed the problem we were having in the car and it went faster than I thought. The combination has TONS of untapped potential left so from my standpoint I’m not upset about it because I know we have more left in it, I didn’t intend to ruin it for others or anything like that, but sometimes it happens. Considering it’s been hit with 33hp before I ever touched it I’m definitely not the first one to hit it...lol

Mark for 30 plus years NHRA official's would tear down the winner and runner up at each race. So theirs tons of time after the race to teardown cars if time/man power during the race is a issue. Mark I do agree there are quite a few tech guys at the div level that bust there butts all weekend long.

It makes total sense. It proves that the winner and runner-up play within the rules.

J Allen you better get to work, Hp was increased 116 to 599. I am sure its lack of proof reading. All in all some outstanding performance by all purchasing lead today!

It could be they are using the new "Common Core" math to calculate the Horsepower... 483 + 16 = 599 ![]() |

I'm sorry I don't get it.....because you made it to the final, there's a better chance your not legal? as opposed to somebody who lost first round? Now if you got to the final beating everything on the property in heads up races I guess I get it. I'm not opposed to teardowns.I just think they should be random and/or record setting runs. |

I am fine with random after the last qualifying run. Heck I am fine with tearing one down after the first round bye.......... (I also think they could have torn Allen down to the bare block and he would have passed!!) Last edited by GUMP; 04-23-2018 at 05:35 PM. |
