Re: Factory X
See where Aaron Stanfield will have a FX car out later this year. Just another sign that Pro Camaro is on it’s last legs. FS plus FX will give the manufacturers two different venues to flex their muscle, unless NHRA mucks it up of course.

Re: Factory X
Seems like this will be the Pro Stock replacement next year if they get enough racers to build them - the question is where will they come from - Pro Stock or Factory Showdown ? Maybe even Pro Mod . Somehow in the meantime Comp will have to have them to race with - that will help their entry numbers .
The idea of all that HP with a stick on 10" tires should be entertaining for sure - all that and only 2650 lbs onboard .........

Re: Factory X
I dont think this new class is running in Comp next year. They originally said it was an exhibition class for next season. To run comp they would need an index. I guess they will see how many cars get built and what kind of participation they get will determine what really happens with the class. I personally think the small tire is a mistake. Fans dont want to watch a bunch of aborted runs. Supposedly fans dont like pro stock so I dont see them knocking the door down to watch this class. They will need traction control on them. I suspect the guys that are running FS Showdown will be involved to some point and maybe some pro stock teams will build cars. It wont be cheap so us commoners wont be involved. I see it as a pro class. They will need a good size team to pull the trans and clutch every pass like PS.

Re: Factory X
I believe they will run in Comp. at all LODRS events in 2022, and in exhibition form at select National events.

Re: Factory X
I haven’t looked into this new class much. But is it going to be like Allen Johnson prpoposed a few years ago? Which was basically a FS or FSS engine in a PS chassis? I thought that sounded really cool.

Re: Factory X
I can tell you that if this deal ends up in comp before the 4 valve 4 cylinder dragster class happens there will be some exploding heads!!!! What a crock!!!
But back on topic.....as far as the tire goes. the 33 x 10.5 w x 16 is definitely not a "small" tire. It may not be a 16" steamroller that PS runs now, but for the FSS guys that have all of that experience with the 9" tire, this thing will be a cakewalk. We run that tire on our I/D and it is awesome My .02! |
