I always assumed that the car was in primer because the pics are B&W but the car is painted - as delivered the hood and fenders were black & blue gelcoat - the fenders are painted. Many of the early cars Shirley Shahan, Bill Tanner and others were originally shipped without hoods - you will see some pictures where the hoods look black. The hoods were shpped whenthey were available. Note that the Manhatten Dart has a black hood. Possibly an early car?? Daryl are you smiling yet? .
I know that someone said that the car was a SS/B but I have seen nowhere where the car actually had a class designation on it. I think that this is a car that bears further investigation.

I'm up to it. Where can we start??? Can you either post the pix you have on it or send them to my personal email please? Posted might be a better option, as the pix might jog someones memory.
As far as smiling yet, there have been alot of leads we have pursued, & until I get a lil more info that is promising, I'll wait. But believe me when the time comes, you won't be able to wipe the smile off my face .

Daryl,

The problem disecting the Manhattan Speed Shop Dart.
No clear photo's of a window class identification.
Decals with Hurst, but no B & M Transmission decals.

Photo's of it from 1968, versus Charlie Castaldo @ New York Nationals Speedway, versus Charlie @ Englishtown, and versus the Motion Performance 1968 Camaro in A/MP @ Westhampton (Suffolk County)
Drag Strip (all 4-speed cars),,,,,,

Guys,
My scanner is not working at the moment - ben really busy - heading to Indy next week for the U.S Nationals. I have a pic of the Manhatten Speed Dart running Ed Miller at New York National (S/S Nationals) and aginst the Motion Camaro - can only see the front end - but I know it is this car. Paul, that only applies if they were running Class in those pics - eliminations or time trials would mean it could be an automatic - and the Auto cars had Hurst shifters - so it is still a possibility. I wonder if the old Super Stock Nationals programs had entry lists like the programs for NHRA national events? If so, does anyome have one from the 1968 S/S Nationals that lists a Dart from NY?

Nothing looks better than those Fenton flat spoke wheels on a 60's stock/super stock car!
